European Commission appeals EU General Court’s decision to annul Apple’s €13b tax bill

The commission believes the judgment contained a “number of errors of law” and harms fair competition within the EU.

The court decision that annulled Apple’s need to pay €13 billion in back-taxes has been appealed by the European Commission (EC).

The appeal will send the case to Europe’s highest court where a final decision will be made. 

ACMA approves GPS repeater trials in Sydney and Melbourne tunnels Initial trial approved due to need from emergency services.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has approved a number of trials of GPS repeating within road tunnels in Sydney and Melbourne.

ACMA said on Monday it was initially working with emergency services on the trials, which could result in a licensing arrangement for the devices.

Currently, the retransmission of a radionavigation-satellite service, which includes GPS, is currently forbidden by the Radiocommunications Act 1992 since it could interfere with signals. ACMA is in the midst of conducting a review of the ban.

Twitter warns of possible API keys leak

Twitter is notifying developers today about a possible security incident that may have impacted their accounts.

The incident was caused by incorrect instructions that the developer.twitter.com website sent to users’ browsers.

The developer.twitter.com website is the portal where developers manage their Twitter apps and attached API keys, but also the access token and secret key for their Twitter account.
